Migrant/Latino Health Division

 

The division provides and coordinates technical assistance through training and resources that strengthen the capacity of North Carolina Migrant and Community Health Centers to deliver comprehensive and culturally appropriate health care services to Latino and farmworker patients. The division also disseminates date and information about issues, trends and service delivery models relevant to these unique populations.  The activities of the Migrant/Latino Health Division are organized by NCCHCA's Special Populations Coordinator and the Migrant Health Coordinator for the Mid-Atlantic States.

 

The Special Populations Coordinator supports activities and health services for member Migrant and Community Health Centers across the state serving the HIV/Aids, Homeless, Farmworker, Latino and African American communities.  This position also serves as the national contact and lead planner for the East Coast Migrant Stream Forum.

 

The Migrant Health Coordinator for the Mid-Atlantic States is responsible for coordination of farmworker health services within an 8-state region (DE, KY, MD, NC, SC, TN, VA, WV) and supports the development of services to Migrant and Seasonal farmworkers and their families, as well as foster continuity of care for this mobile population.
