2017 National Health Center Week

National Health Center Week was August 13-19, 2017.

Each year the second week in August is dedicated to celebrating the services and contributions of Community, Migrant, Homeless and Public Housing Health Centers. While there are countless reasons to celebrate America’s Health Centers, among the most important and unique is their 50-year history of providing access to affordable, high quality, cost effective health care to medically vulnerable and underserved people throughout the United States.

Health centers in North Carolina:

  • Deliver high-quality and affordable care to over 480,000 people
  • Employ community members and support the local economy in 85 counties through more than 220 clinic sites
  • Ensure that everyone has access to a health care home
  • Collaborate with other community organizations to provide integrated care to their patients
  • Read our handout about NC CHCs made just for National Health Center Week!

From August , 13-19, 2017, community health centers across North Carolina held open house events, tours, health fairs, voter registration drives, etc. to highlight the services of health centers and engage community leaders in dialogue.
