Summary of Position
The 340B Program Specialist is responsible for assisting in all appropriate aspects of 340B Program compliance and maintenance, as well as assisting in all aspects of pharmacy operations. The 340B Program Specialist 1 will model behaviors consistent with the published values and the Code of Conduct of RCCHC.

Roanoke Chowan Community Health Center will provide open access, community-oriented primary care of the highest quality to all residents within our service area and surrounding counties, regardless of their ability to pay.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions in the English language. Communicate effectively. Interact in a respectful and professional manner with internal and external customers. Ability to gather and synthesize information. Must be void of any drug convictions or related charges. Able to travel to other RCCHC site. Understanding of, and sensitivity to, the diverse populations, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds to the communities we serve.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required
Experience: Minimum two years of experience working in a full-time pharmacy required. Prior 340B work experience highly preferred. Spanish speaking preferred
Certification(s)/Licensure: Pharmacy Technician certification or ability to obtain certification preferred
Knowledge:
Knowledge and thorough understanding of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s) in regard to the Federal 330 Public Health Service Act
Knowledge of thorough understanding of the 340B program
Knowledge of computer systems and applications.

Essential Functions
Execute and document monthly self-audits for the 340B Program
Assist with the remediation of self-audit findings
Utilize identified processes to determine 340B eligibility of referral prescriptions from both in-house and contract pharmacies as well as additional vendors
Contact patients with ineligible in-house specialty prescriptions to provide alternate options for access to needed medications
Contact Specialty Providers to request notes for specialty claim eligibility, if needed
Monitor 340B compliance within the referral prescription eligibility process
Maintain proficiency in the utilization of all contract pharmacy specialty prescription portals
Attend internal meetings to monitor 340B compliance and standards of business
Assist with the evaluation and implementation of coast savings opportunities with the 340B
Program
Prepare prescriptions, including labeling, counting medications and packaging for pharmacist
review
Maintain/Update the pharmacy computer database
Pull and fill prescriptions sent electronically in a timely manner
Order replacement medications as needed
Verify all patient information received from patients, faxes, and e-prescribing including allergies and insurance information for accuracy
Maintain reports and logs for pharmacy
Maintain strict patient confidentiality
Pull, reverse claims, and restock all medications that were not picked up within 10 days of fill
date
Orient patients to pharmacy workflows and processes
Performs other duties as assigned.
Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, and telephones.
Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted office environment. May be exposed to contagious diseases and other patient-related conditions. Occasional evening and weekend work and some travel.
