Organization: The North Carolina Community Health Center Association (NCCHCA) is the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) designation Primary Care Association (PCA) for North Carolina and serves as a membership organization for Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC). These non-profit patient-governed health care organizations provide comprehensive primary medical, dental, pharmacy, behavioral health and enabling services to patients regardless of insurance status or geographic isolation. NCCHCA is the sponsor and managing partner of Carolina Medical Home Network (CMHN), a clinically integrated network owned and led by 35 NC health centers in partnership with NCCHCA. CMHN’s vision is to be a leading healthcare network creating value to all stakeholder through collaborative, person-centered community healthcare, with the mission to promote high-value care and health equity through personalized, coordinated delivery of data-driven healthcare services.
Internship Focus Area: The Carolina Medical Home Network Intern will support tasks and assignments to advance the clinically integrated network’s stated goals and deliverables and prepare health centers for value-based care models. The intern will report to the Director of Population health, but will also receive direction from the CMHN Director and Health Center Controlled Network (HCCN) Director. Internship duties and assignments are administrative and include exposure to subject matter such as data-driven clinical support, health policy, social determinants of health and non-profit governance.
Example of Intern Duties:
Qualifications: Graduate program student (Master’s or Doctoral candidate) or recent graduate with bachelor’s degree in health sciences, public health, or similar field of study.
Timeframe: October – TBD
Time Commitment: At least 10 to 12 hrs./week during academic semester
Location: Remote
Stipend: $15/hr
