Kinston Community Health Center, Inc. is looking for a CNM to join our team. You will be joining 2 OB physicians. Each provider has 2 CMA’s to a provider, and ED call is shared with hospitalist at UNC Lenoir.
• EMR: Nextgen
• Call Coverage: 2-3 calls per week; 1 every 6th weekend (Friday 6 am to Monday 6am)
• UNC Lenoir
• 350 deliveries per year; split between 3 practices (5 providers)
• 18-20 daily encounters
• Board Certified or Board Eligible
• Malpractice coverage provided by Center: Federal Tort Claims Act (HRSA)
• Clean Malpractice
Qualifications/Duties:
•Master’s of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), but is not required.
•The CNM must display a considerable d (1) year clinical experience as a CNM preferred. Current CPR certification required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification preferred.
•Provides comprehensive women’s health care services using the midwifery model to a select population of essentially healthy women. Participates in the care of women with various health risks in collaboration with the obstetrician/gynecologist as appropriate.
•Primary responsibilities and principle functions include, but are not limited to:
•Performing accurate history and physical examinations according to the health care needs of the client(s).
•Providing individualized health education and counseling according to the Philosophy of the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM).
•Providing primary care in an ambulatory setting to women, including the collection and assessment of data through the use of screening/diagnostic tools, as necessary, to evaluate, diagnose, and implement recommended treatment plans and follow-up.
•Providing inpatient obstetrical care for essentially healthy women including labor management, delivery of infant, repair of lacerations/episiotomy and management of minor complications.
•Initiating emergency care when indicated.
•Identifying deviations from normal and consults, co-manages, or refers, as necessary, with collaborating physicians and other healthcare disciplines or specialties when needed.
•The CNM provides these health care services and responsibilities based on guidelines for the Practice of Nurse-Midwifery; ACNM Standards for the Practice of Midwifery, North Carolina’s Board of Nursing; and policies of Kinston Community Health Center, Inc.
•The CNM participates in continuing education activities; supports the instruction and supervision of midwifery students and other learners; and assists in providing Continuous Performance Improvement reports to improve the quality of client care.
•The CNM completes necessary documentation in the Electronic Medical Record in an accurate, timely manner. The CNM performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Director.
