Carolina Family Health Center is hiring for a Director of Finance! The Director of Finance is responsible for the effective functioning of accounting systems, including accounts payable, payroll systems, purchasing, cash management, general ledger, financial reporting and State/Federal regulatory reporting. This positon reports to the Chief Financial Officer. The successful candidate will be able to lead and thrive in a changing, and fast-paced environment and possess the ability to apply a strong financial background, delivering effective and efficient financial services.
Responsibilites:
Review and oversee daily cash functions/schedules, accounts payable, payroll, and investments, includes, learning all functions to perform as a backup if needed.
Review and approve of various documents for processing and reviewing data entry for accuracy prior to posting
Prepare fixed asset depreciation, allocations, prepare audits for fixed assets, enter/dispose of fixed assets as necessary, and update fixed assets monthly.
Responsible for maintenance of the general ledger, which includes, but is not limited to, overseeing the month-end close, preparation of journal entries, and bank reconciliations.
Conduct reconciliations of balance sheet asset and liability accounts to ensure correctness. Identify and resolve discrepancies.
Review biweekly payroll detail, liabilities, and reporting.
Conduct HRSA Form 3 Analysis on a quarterly basis.
Update SEFA on a quarterly basis.
Ensure CFHC complies with all internal policies, procedures, and relevant regulations, and segregation of duties are adhered to and ensure filings are completed in a timely manner.
Oversee the continuous improvement of Accounting and Financial Processes and the development of the team with the goal to achieve best practices and optimal output.
Assist CFO to develop the annual budget, UDS, prepare for audits, tax return, Medicare/Medicaid cost report, grants management, etc.
Learn and understand grants management to ensure daily transactions are accurate.
Manage current relationships with vendors and business associates and review alternatives that enhance efficiencies and maximize the use of resources.
Complete monthly financial metrics.
Enhance financial reporting package and create financial dashboards.
Maintain amortization schedules for lease agreements.
Assist CFO in the development of financial policies and procedures.
Print checks/EFTs.
Assist Administrative Assistant – Operations with CME/License tracking.
Reconcile Petty Cash and Cash on Hand.
Inactivate vendors/Chart of Accounts no longer in use.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimal Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field of study, with 5-7 years of related Accounting experience preferably in a healthcare environment, with at least two years of supervisory experience required.
Expert level experience with Microsoft Office, Excel; spreadsheet analysis, budget development, variance analysis, and strong communication skills.
Accounting/Finance experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Constant sitting or standing for long periods of time, occasional bending, and stooping.
Frequent computer work required.
Must be able to travel freely in the local area.
