Position Summary: This position is responsible for directing Nursing and Medical Assistant activities in the organization. The Director of Nursing works directly with the Chief Medical Officer to identify and to implement strategies to continually address patient and organizational needs and improve clinical operations. The Director of Nursing will direct the provision of nursing services in compliance with the North Carolina Nursing Practice Act. This position is responsible for providing the appropriate staffing to address clinical support needs, at the Fayetteville Street site and, in collaboration with the Satellite Administrator, at the Satellite sites.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of nursing field care delivery and ability to supervise and manage all levels of staff are required. Ability to motivate and engage staff, build trust and consensus, and appropriately lead, delegate and empower a high-caliber team. Strategic thinker with strong communication skills and initiative who critically analyzes problems and generates creative and effective solutions and can work concurrently on a variety of projects with competing deadlines and turnaround times. Caring and compassionate with a commitment to working in community health with the challenges of working with an uninsured and diverse patient population.
Education: Masters of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field or Nurse Practitioner training strongly preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and license to practice in NC required.
Experience: A minimum of five years Nursing/Nurse Practitioner experience supplemented by a minimum of five (5) years of Nursing Management Experience.
