Summary

The North Carolina Community Health Center Association (NCCHCA) is a membership organization for federally qualified, non-profit patient-governed health care organizations that provide care to patients regardless of insurance status or geographic isolation.  NCCHCA’s mission is to promote and support patient-governed health care organizations and the populations they serve.  NCCHCA is a team-oriented nonprofit whose services include education, representation, and training and technical assistance in the areas of health policy, clinical services, migrant/seasonal farmworker health, finance and operations, and health information technology (health IT).

The Grants and Contracts Data Analyst position will support the data analysis and reporting needs of various grants and contracts held by NCCHCA. The duties will include working with program staff to facilitate the collection, analysis, reporting, and sharing of clinical and non-clinical data. The Grants and Contracts Data Analyst will work closely with the members of the Analytics Department to develop and implement a robust analytics and reporting portfolio that leverages both basic and advanced data analytics solutions. This position may also be responsible for providing training sessions on basic data analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferably in data science, business analytics, computer science, health informatics or a related field. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered. Minimum of 2 years of demonstrated skills and background in data analytics.

Additional skills preferred: Experience with statistical analyses and SQL/other programming language.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience developing and leveraging a data warehouse through reporting, analysis and data mining.
  • Experience with visualization software like Tableau or PowerBI and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge and experience with the use of clinical and administrative data to support patient care and operations.
  • Working knowledge and experience with electronic health record systems
  • Ability to analyze basic data sets and produce reports
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and succinctly, both in writing and orally in multiple formats.
  • Must be highly detail-oriented and have excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage and prioritize various and differing projects, as well as work effectively toward numerous deadlines.
  • Great customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a health care setting, preferably with a federally qualified health center and/or in an ambulatory/outpatient setting.

Essential Functions 

  • Generate reports by extracting and analyzing data from various sources (clinical and administrative) to deliver grants and contract reports.
  • Turn data into information to maximize quality improvement, grant management and financial viability.
  • Provide data validation and analytics support to the NCCHCA Population Health Data Platform system and users .
  • Ensure timely submission of data to internal and external stakeholders and organizations
  • Create data collateral (visualizations, graphs, presentations, etc.) to support NCCHCA efforts
  • Develop or contribute to grant applications and program reports
  • Present information to internal and external teams.
  • Train internal and external teams on aggregating, analyzing and visualizing data.
  • Curiosity to identify trends and anomalies in data.

Physical Demands

  • Consistently working at desk in front of computer monitor, significant typing and data entry, majority of the day is spent indoors and sitting.

Work Environment

  • Typical office environment with occasional travel (10%) around the state to visit participating health centers or domestically for conferences.
