Salary Range: $77,748 – 122,964 annually
Salary negotiable based on qualifications and experience
Hours: Full time, between the hours of 7:00am and 6:00pm M-F to serve clients during normal hours of operation which are Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 4:45pm and will rotate Saturday mornings. Potential to work outside normal hours for client needs, special events, or
public health emergencies.
Job Summary: Provide preventative and primary care services to clients of AppHealthCare.
Major Duties and Responsibilities: Provide high quality preventive health and primary care services to clients of all ages. Perform
health histories, physical exams, education, counseling and treatment services to clients seeking services within Child Health, Adult Health, Maternal Health, Family Planning, Sexual Transmitted Disease, as well as Breast and Cervical Cancer Control and Prevention. Interest in providing Medication Assisted Treatment services for patients in recovery from opiate addiction is preferred. Ongoing supervision from the Medical Director includes defined patient care protocols and guidelines with availability for prompt consultation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of techniques of interviewing for relevant medical history, principles and
practices of general medicine and disease states as related to the area of work; thorough knowledge of health appraisal tools, laboratory tests and findings, medical material and therapeutic procedures as related to the area of work; thorough knowledge and ability to plan a regime of care based on assessment and findings; considerable knowledge of available resources and appropriate referral methods. Skills in performing clinical functions and assisting with routine surgical procedures. Ability to examine patients and detect abnormalities; ability to record accurately and completely all information necessary to evaluate and plan care and to convey this to the physician; ability to communicate orally; ability to teach and counsel individuals, families and groups in areas of health maintenance, preventive medicine, and care of the sick; and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff
and to gain the confidence of patients and families and work effectively with them; some ability to plan and conduct in-service training programs. Serves as a consultant to other staff members by providing medical information and directing patient care management; participates as a multi-disciplinary team member.
Other Requirements: Due to the nature of this position, a dependable vehicle and valid driver’s license are required for travel within the district and to attend state required meetings as assigned. Must be able to function with frequent interruptions, have the ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure with patients, co-workers, personnel from other agencies, and the public in a clear, courteous, and cooperative manner. Experience with electronic health records preferred and ability to conduct patient visits with telehealth technology.
Minimum Training and Experience: Minimum Training and Experience – Licensed as a Physician Assistant by the North Carolina Medical Board or approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the North Carolina Board of Nursing and the North Carolina Medical Board and one year of experience as a Physician Extender; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
