Job Description:

Ocracoke Health Center, Inc. is recruiting for a Primary Care Physician to join our medical team at Engelhard Medical Center in Engelhard, North Carolina.

Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer, this is an exempt position responsible for providing primary care services, including assessing, diagnosing, prescribing, treating, and educating patients. Works closely with physicians and other clinicians in a team approach to patient care. May specialize in a specific type of clinical care, e.g., family medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics.

Minimal Qualifications:
Graduation from accredited medical school with a Doctor of Medicine/Osteopathic Medicine. Licensed to practice in NC. Controlled Substance Registration Certification. Completion of residency in Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics. Board eligible or certified.

Mental/Physical Requirements:
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally requires lifting and carrying items weighing up to 10 pounds. Requires correct vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stress in emergency situations and occasionally may involve irregular working hours.
