REFERRALS ASSOCIATE – HARVEST FAMILY HEALTH CENTER
Harvest Family Health Center is hiring for a Referrals Associate!
The Referrals Associate arranges and track referrals requested by providers to outside entities and track designated diagnosis, as requested by providers. The Referrals Associate also obtains prior authorizations as needed. This position reports to the Medical Records and Referrals Manager.
Essential Responsibilities:
Obtain insurance authorization for referral appointments when necessary, through various insurance provider portals.
Input referral requests into various systems.
Communicate with medical providers if additional information is needed.
Schedule referral appointments.
Communicate appointment details with the patient.
Document all activity necessary to schedule the referral appointment in the electronic health record.
Monitor Referral Workqueues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum one year of similar experience.
High school diploma or GED. Preferred, HIT or Medical Office Administration Associates Degree.
Electronic Health Records system experience is required.
Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
Must be professional, detail oriented, and organized.
Familiarity with medical terminology is preferred, but not required.
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent sitting, occasional bending, stooping, lifting, reaching forward and overhead.
May occasionally be required to lift office equipment and paper, usually not exceeding fifty pounds.
Frequent computer work.
