Position Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to perform billing, payment posting and denial management for physician and dental providers.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain daily medical and dental charge entry functions for designated site(s)
Audit patient accounts for demographic & insurance accuracy.
Files claims to secondary insurance (i.e. Medicaid, Carolina Access, PHP Plans, Tailored, Commercial Payers or Medicare) for payments.
Respond to all inquiries and correspondences from patients and insurance companies.
Maintain the A/R work queues for designated site(s)
Obtain and correct missing or incorrect information to patient accounts from insurance companies, as needed.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships within the billing team and finance department.
Maintain patient confidentiality and provides customer service.
Abide by all company policies regarding safety/health rules and regulations.
Adapts to various situations and adjusts to shifting priorities.
Perform other tasks as assigned.
Job duties require a high school education with additional specialized courses in medical/dental terminology. Must have a working knowledge of medical/dental billing, working knowledge of commercial billing, strong computer skills, strong written communication skills, denial management, phone etiquette and be a team player. Must maintain current NC driver’s license for occasional outside travel.
Minimum Qualifications Include
Three (3) years of billing experience within the healthcare industry, to include knowledge of third-party physician billing and collections, customer service, cash application, payment analysis and denial management.
Dental coding and billing
Commercial and Medicaid Billing experience
Denial Management experience
