Job Description:

Summary
The Curriculum Development Director (CDD) directs the overall design and development of North Carolina Community Health Center Association (NCCHCA) LMS training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials, including asynchronous, blended, and live curricula for various programs that include employees, our members, or other learners affiliated with NCCHCA. The CDD will collaborate with the Director of Health Equity Research, Event Coordinator, and NCCHCA’s other departments to develop these innovative training programs.

The CDD will serve as a curriculum consultant and developer, supporting subject matter experts to develop training products. They will also develop subject matter expertise for research grants.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in instructional design or related field; demonstrated skill and creativity in instructional design and curriculum. development for adult learners. Preferred: master’s in public health or related field.
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral, including grammar, mechanics, standard usage, and punctuation.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of adult learning concepts, training, and curriculum development.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Subject Matter Experts, multiple teams, and stakeholders- soliciting and incorporating feedback to make necessary changes.
  • Experience with project management and ability to see projects from design to completion.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a skill assessment process to collect input and identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements.
  • Consult with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum.
  • Serve as a collaborator and thought partner in the design of programs and convenings.
  • Ensures curricula designs support defined competency models or skill frameworks.
  • Develops standards and methodology to prepare high-quality outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person, online LMS courses and self-study programs that incorporate learning solutions and associated products in multiple formats, including long format e-modules, instructor guides, lesson plans, videos, learning events, visual aids and generate visuals and graphics for the curricula.
  • Oversee and approve the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training, as well as highlight emerging innovations in the field.
  • Establish the appropriate metrics to use for the evaluation of training effectiveness.
  • Analyze outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs and budgets.
  • Manage project plans and workflow for multiple trainings, from design to completion.
  • Produce training focused on knowledge and skill development.
  • Support team in delivery of live in-person and virtual training events.
  • Manage the Relias Learning Management system.
  • Provide editing and quality control for training deliverables and communications.
  • Work with evaluation NCCCHA Leadership team to drive continuous improvement of course processes and training experiences.
  • Work with team to ensure all training aligns and emphasize Relias values in centering equity.
